Hudson (born September 12, 1981 in Chicago) is an American singer and actress.
Life and achievements
Hudson graduated in 1999 from Dunbar Vocational Career Academy. It started in 2004 in competition American Idol in Atlanta, where she reached the seventh place. She sang a duet with Meat Loaf the song The Future Is not What It Used to Be, which on the album Bat Out of Hell III is: listen to The Monster Is Loose. In November 2006 she signed a recording contract with Arista Records music label .
In the film drama Dreamgirls (2006) she took on the role of Effie Melody White, which she played alongside Jamie Foxx and Beyoncé Knowles. She also sang many songs of the soundtrack such as Love You I Do and I Am Telling You (I'm Not Going). At the audition, she asserted herself against numerous competitors, including Fantasia Barrino, who had won the competition American Idol 2004th
For her role in Dreamgirls
Hudson won in 2006, the National Board of Review Award, the New York Film Critics Circle Award, Satellite Award and 2007 Oscar and Golden Globe Award as best supporting actress. They also received the 2006 ShoWest Award in the category Female Star of Tomorrow, the Hollywood Life Award and the Award of the Washington DC Film Critics Association in two categories. When Oscar 2007, she performed with Beyoncé Knowles and Anika Noni Rose with a medley.
In the comedy movie Sex And The City (2008)
Hudson played the role of assistant to Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker). Crime drama Winged Creatures came in, whose publication in 2008, she took a role alongside Kate Beckinsale, Dakota Fanning and Forest Whitaker .
In autumn 2008,
Hudson published his first solo album. The first single, Spotlight, was recorded with Ne-Yo and Stargate, and published in June 2008. Among others, participated in the recordings Akon, R. Kelly, John Legend, T-Pain and Timbaland.

At the request of the Jackson family, she sang in the eighth month of pregnancy, 7 July 2009 as part of the funeral service for Michael Jackson at Staples Center in Los Angeles, an interpretation of the song "Will you be there, which ausklang with spoken quotes of the deceased.
